Welcome to the home of Whyoo Tonkinese, bred for many years in the beautiful Kent countryside near Canterbury (UK).

Whyoo cats are home-bred (which means that the cats are our pets first, and live in the house with us, not in runs outside), and we put the health and welfare of the cats above any other consideration.

We are actively involved in contributing to the gene pool of the Tonkinese by working with new bloodlines and supporting new breeders. We do not show our cats ourselves, although a Whyoo kitten was awarded Overall Best in Show at the Tonkinese Breed Club Show in September 2009 when her new owner took her to their first show (first for both kitten and owner). We were naturally very pleased, particularly as the judge recognised as important the features of solidity, health and strength that we are also breeding for. Florence was only 6 months old at the show, but topped all the other adults and kittens there.

Our priority is to keep the breed healthy and strong. We believe there is no excuse to breed from lines that have flaws or health problems.

We are also involved in Welfare for the breed, and you can find out more about Tonkinese Rescue on our Rescue page.
